Terms of Sale:
At this time, shipping is limited to the contiguous 48 states of the USA which do not require phytosanitary documents for the import of plants. Sorry, no shipping to Hawaii, Alaska, or states requiring phytosanitary documenation. It is your responsibility to determine whether your state requires phytosanitary documentation; few of them do.
Plants designated as "Blooming Size" contain at least one mature growth that, under favorable cultural conditions, should bloom during the following blooming season.
Plants designated as "Near Blooming Size" contain at least one near mature growth that may not bloom during the next blooming season, but will most likely bloom during the following blooming season.
Both designations are intended to be helpful indicators of the maturity of the largest growth of the plant, but do not guarantee that the plants referred to by these terms will bloom during the specified time period. Many factors, such as poor cultural practices will retard blooming time.

Yesterday, shipping rates went up across the board at the USPS, so we have all been expecting minor rate increases for shipping. However, there has been a significant rate increase with regard to shipping packages that are over one cubic foot in volume. In many cases, prices will be nearly double what they were in the past for large boxes. Now, measurements of the box being shipped are required.
THIS WILL NOT AFFECT MOST ORDERS
Here is an example of the increase:
A box that weights 3 lbs. 10 oz. shipped from CO to FL would previously have cost about $12. Currently, a box that is smaller than a cubic foot will cost about $12.50. However, a box that is the same weight but twice as long will now cost $24.10 to ship the same distance. Oddly, the same box would cost about $27 to ship overnight by express mail.
For plants that will fit in a 12 x 12 x 8 box, rates will remain roughly the same, with only a moderate increase. I am currently working on finding a more cost effective way to ship larger items. For the time being, if you are planning on ordering several plants or even a single large plant, please let me know which method of shipping you'd prefer if you don't want to use USPS.
All plants will be shipped in their pots unless we are instructed otherwise. You may choose to have your plants shipped bare-root in order to save on shipping costs, but we do not recommend it.
Orders will be shipped by USPS priority mail unless otherwise specified. I will be happy to accomodate other requests, and will recommend expedited shipping in cold weather.
We will ship at actual shipping cost. For very large orders, an additional boxing fee may be charged. Shipping fees will be calculated and charged before shipping. Once your shipping has been calculated (usually within a day or two after your order), a PayPal bill will be sent to you via email for the shipping and boxing charge. The order will be shipped only after the bill is payed.
This may seem to be an inconvenience, but most of my customers agree that it is preferable to paying flat rates for postage. Since many expensive items are light, and some inexpensive items are heavy, it seems to me the most honest option to charge no more than I am charged for dropping off packages at the post office.
If you would like a shipping ESTIMATE before ordering, just email me (at jmgore@goreorchids.com) and tell me what you'd like to order, and I'll give you the best estimate that I can.
If you're only ordering a single plant, here are some very rough estimates:
1 seedling (4-8 inch leafspan) : Around $6.00
1 medium sized plant (10-12 inch leafspan, 1 growth) : Around $8
1 large plant (14-20 inch, or multiple growths) : $12.
